Lin Zhe Xu destroy opium at Hu Kou Beach
During Dynasty Ching,England exported huge quantity of opium into China.At that time, the whole nation, from rich to the poor,all are smoking opium.This is not only weaken their health,also causing lots of currency outflow.This had severely influenced the people's health and economic development.In this critical moments, lin Zhe Xu had written many letters to advise the king about the danger of opium.At last,King Dao Guang adopted his suggestion.In December 1838,Lin was assigned to Guang Zhou to in charge of job of banning opium.In Guang Zhou, Lin and another 2 colleagues were preparing to reinforce the sea defense.At the same time, they organized army to get ready for English's attack.They also ordered foreign opium traffickers to hand over all smuggled opium.This forced the English opium dealers to hand over 200,000,000 catty of opium, they also guaranteed they would not export opium to China.At the Hu Kou Beach, Lin had conducted the world largest opium destroyed campaign.He fully adopted scientific method to destroy the drug,ie:dug a bifg hole,pump in sea water,apply some clay and destroy all opium.This method had not caused pollution to the environment.During that period, many people came to witnessed, all felt very glad.Lin's action had not only save all Chinese 's destiny, it also showed strong determination to protest foreign colony.
Lin had not only become Chinese hero,but also leaving behind lots of wisdom to us, especially his '10 useless' words.We can gained lots of beneficial inspiration from there.ie:

Yan Ying assigned to Chu
Yan Ying was Chi Country's prime minister,He was short and ugly.One day he was assigned by Chi's King to visit Chu's Country.Chu's King planned to humiliate Yan Ying .Hence he opened a small and tiny door for him.Yan Ying knew that Chu's people would like to humiliate him,hence he said"I am coming to visit your country,This door is door for dog, if you think I'm visiting dog's country,then I will go in through this door." Upon hearing his words,Chu's King quickly open the main gate and let him in.
When Yan Ying saw the king, Chu's king purposely asked him:"Why your country send you here?Is it because there is no other people?" Yan Ying replied;"Our country has a rule for sending people to visit others' country. High class people will be send to high class country.I am the most useless one, hence was send to your country." The Chu's king later arranged someone to send a criminal in front of him.The king asked what was the crimed he convicted? His man replied that "He is Chi's citizen and had convicted stealing case." Yan Yang immediately said :"The mandarin orange from Huai Nan if transfer and plant in Huai Bei,it will grow thorn.Chi's citizen came to Chu,immediately became theft, is because bad influence"
Chu's king heard his words and felt very sorry for Yan Yang, he immediately apologized with him.
A person's outstanding abilities will naturally endow him with a good reputation.Admiration from others does not come from boasting or praising oneself.

Teacher Chai and the policeman
Once,teacher Chai came to Police academy in Shen Chuan to give talk. These police are all aged around 30-40 whom have gained many years of working experience.This time they came for training.Before Teacher Chai gave his talk, a teacher reminded him that:"Beware of these policemen, please don't give too long speech,1 1/2 hours will do". Despite his words, Teacher Chai was not influenced by his words.He strongly believe so long as he is sincere, they will be touched by his talk.
Upon standing on the stage,he saw policemen coming in , all are tall and stout. Some of them not happy and murmured:"why the class not yet started?". Teacher Chai thought :Our life have two situations, either you change him or he change you."Teacher Chai immediately think that one must praise others, cannot straight away criticize them as irresponsible etc. Moreover they are very well manner, they immediately stand up, pay respect to Teacher Chai.Teacher Chai immediately stepped his feet and raised his right hand,showed respect to them too.He took the microphone and said:"dear 'Ah Sir", how are you?'Initially the policemen was not happy but after saw he paying respect,they all laughed.Teacher Chai said:"When I was young, whenever I saw a policeman I'll really respect them.Policemen is our society's nanny.Whenever the policemen have high moral, whoever facing problems that look for your help will feel very secure.If you meet someone who committed crime, we should tap his shoulder and remind him to be dutiful to his parents,do something meaningful for the society.This kindness may awake them.After listening to his speech, the policemen all sit with their chest upright as they realize their mission. After giving 1 1/2 hour talks,it was end of the talk,Teacher Chai thanked the policemen for listening his talk. However, the audience asked him to give some more speech. Teacher Chai stood there and did not know what to do.The organizer later requested him to give additional 1/2 hr speech.
In the 1/s hr speech, Teacher Chai mentioned about husband -wife relationship, childrens' education etc.Actually as a parent, everyone will worry about their children.Once mentioned about the issues concerned by them, these policemen will listen attentively.Two hours later, Teacher Chai came down from the stage, they all surrounded him and asked him to sign on their 'di zi gui' booklet.Teacher Chai told them he thought only Andy Lau will get that type of admire, he never thought that he would received the same admiration.
We knew the importance of moral, regardless of age,occupation etc.Today we are able to accept the teaching of our great ancestors, we should upgrade ourselves and spread the knowledge to others.This knowledge is not merely understanding.As we need to use our action and speech to act out the themselves, so that they are able to cultivate elite and be a good leader. Everyone must be extra cautious on behavior issues.If one cannot be caution or trustworthy, one cannot convince the rest, even cannot knowledge, then people will respect us. Certain people can convince others, not because of their loud voice or their power .Instead is the true knowledge and high morality that they will automatically being respected.
>From Teacher Chai's speech, we learned that we must study diligently,especially our teacher and leaders must always upgrade ourselves, then we will have ability to lead others.We must be careful with our behavior.If we are not able to be careful and trustworthy, we are not able to convince others. If we cannot convince others, our organization will be dissolved any time. Hence we must have good moral, then can convince others.
However, some people like to be arrogant.Eg in ancient China,there is general Wang Zao Yuan,always arrogant and said if he control the army, he will be able to control the whole country.At 961, Song from the north attack his country, he lead the armies to defense.Due to his mislead, his team were defeated by Song. He was arrested as captive.
We should learn Teacher's Chai spirit of spreading the great ancestor's knowledge.We must remind ourselves not to follow Wang Zao Yuan, be a morally high person and contribute to the society.

Madam Xu Zhe-a person with great love
Madam Xu Zhe, born on 1898 in China.
At Age Activities she learnt
27 went to primary school
47 learn about nursing
67 started up a care center for old folks
69 learn yoga
90 learn Buddhism
100 learn Mandarin
101 become Buddhist, was recognized by Singapore government as "Singapore Treasure"
Xu Zhe's life experience is very special.The things she learn was always later than others, however the enthusiasm and sincerity that she has given is always more than others. She is the best speaker for 'life long learning". At age 47, she went to England for 4 years of professional nurse care.The colleage only took student from age 17-25.How can she already exceeding the age,yet convinced the head master to accept her as student?She had written a letter to the head master, informed him that her wish to devote her whole life to the poors and sicks.In order to take care them efficiently, she need to master medical related knowledge.Hence the school accept her enrollment by exception.
Her devotion to charity is began like this,in 1933 as she was a correspondence secretary to a England company in Hong Kong.One day, a friend invited her to a high class restaurant for dinner.It was a marvellous restaurant, with perfect lighting and classical music which created a romantic environment .After the dinner, she walked out the restaurant joyfully amid the cold wind.Suddenly, at the corner of the restaurant,she saw an old man,standing under the dim light.He was very weak and shivered from hunger.He extended his hand and beg at him.His fingers were very dirty.Her heart felt like poked by something sharply. She thought ,he was my brother too,why I could drink brandy, yet he had to suffered from hunger for days?In this world, there are many pity people who have no rice to eat;the meal she just spent can feed many poor people for few days.Ever since that day, she never spent a cent on herself as she thought if she spent a cent, it means it is snatching her brothers' money.
Ever since then, Madam Xu Zhe has started her life with great love.She feel that healping others shouldn't differentiate by races, countries or religions.Everyone should regards others as herself/himself, regard the world as a family.Regard everyone as own brothers and sisters. Human is like a big family, she just try her best to take care of those whom need her help.Of course,this matter has to start from one's inner self.She has no right to ask others to do the same,she just can practise herself.Now, Madam Xu Zhe already 106 years old.She not only don't need people take care of her, instead she can take care of over 20 lonely old folks who are younger than her about 20-30 years.Every month, she distribute food to them,pay their rental and utilities bills.Whenever she distributing 'ang pau'(red packet) to those old folks,she said her biggest prize is seeing their happy smile,Their smiles have make her look younger.She said :"I'm the happiest person as everyone only has 1 set of happiness, but I have 20 happiness'.
People donated over one million of Taiwan currency,she never use a cent onto herself.She said:"I never buy a cloth,whatever i wear is all collected from dust bin.Those can be used,I will washed then use.Those cannot,I will repair then use.I noted in this world there are many poor people have no rice to eat, no clothes to wear, it will be very waste if I go buy a new clothing,I will feel sorry for the poor people."In her own room,aside a desk,her mother photo on top of her bed, there are nothing left.her kitchen is for boiling water only. The souvenirs that people presented to her,she has kept some only.Someone gave her photo, she will tear it .She said her hard earned money before 1941 is not belong to her too.This is because she think she has good health and energy to take care of others is not because of she own health and energy.Instead is the lord has given her all this.The lord care of human, hence I would like to help lord take care of human,they are all my brothers and sisters.Seldom of us can have great love as great as hers.The things she give away ranging from instant noodle to people's residence.Tens years ago,her elder sister passed away and gave her all her bequest.She donated all and bought over ten units of houses and provided lodging for those poor old folks.What more precious is she devoted her life to let poor people settle down.She has forget about herself, there is no such thing as 'my attachment'.A normal person very hard to let go of oneself, but she is able to do so.Someone asked her;"Some old folks who are bad temper and let go of their temper at you, what would you do?" She said;"I will quietly hold her /his hand and smiled at him/her.For those who scolded me,I will chant 'amithabha' to him/her"She explained why a person will lose temper or scold others?It is because his/her inner magnetic field is mess up.I chant amithabha is to help him/her,so that her/his dirty things inside will be thrown away."Madam Xu Zhe had believed in Catholic.Ever she converted to Buddhism, her Catholic friends asked her why she read evil's books? She said;"I regard all the religions in this world are all bright.My religious believe is religion about 'love', always love all humans,as everyone is brothers and sisters."
Madam Xu Zhe's great love has gained recognistion from many organizations throughout the world.She has been invited for many seminar tovoice her view.She also had been interviewed widely. Upon receiving so many recognition, Madam Xu Zhe calmly said:"All I have done is very normal things.Just like whenever people is hungry, I just pour a cup of drink for him/her.This is just a instinct,I never regard it as a recognition"
Madam Xu Zhe, regard herself as hundred years old "youngster" who only know how to sweep floor.She still has a dream, to build a 'heart to heart home' to take care of poor old folks, tortured woman etc.Noble prize winner, Mother Teresa said she belong to Jesus's soul.However,Madam Xu Zhe who spend her whole life to care and love others unconditionally.This volunteer has crossed 3 decades,her loves belong to the whole world and Bodhisatva's soul.
p/s:Well,Madam Xu Zhe will have such great love is partly due to her mother's influence.When she was very young, whenever there was any begger begged food from her mother, her mother will take whatever food that was available (including their rice and dishes)and gave to them.She was very impressed of their smiling face upon receiving the food.
